Imploring Christians To Be Quiet

To implore Christians to "be quiet" in the face of overwhelming evidence concerning these sinful times, is ashamedness of Jesus Christ. It is faithlessness to misuse bible verses, to call Christians to non-existent neutrality in the face of evil. There is no chapter and verse that says the mouths of believers must be stopped. And for those, in Scripture and church history, who tried to stop their mouths, they had nothing to do with His church. This is only the agenda of those outside of His Kingdom.

The Man And His Office: life and doctrine

The man must never be divided from his office. Paul's defense of his apostleship is as much a defense of his message. In fact, in the book of Corinthians, Paul offers a defense of his office tying it directly to his message and authenticating gifts. This is not an argument for modern day sign gifts or modern day apostleship. What is evident is that, even in the case of the Pastor-Teacher and Elder, it is foreign to Scripture and apostolic teaching to divide man's doctrine, qualifications, and associations into special categorizes. These standards are never relaxed, and all who claim the office of Elder/Pastor-Teacher are held to this high standard. Paul makes it clear that morality and doctrine is in view for both teacher (who leads by example) and the flock (who learn by his example). Bad company corrupts good morals. And it corrupts the man who keeps such company. For example, if an elder cannot refute those who contradict, he is one who should not be in office; even if he is affable, popular and renowned by men. Paul defends his office because it is tied directly to the revelation he received from the risen Lord. Since Pastors and Elders receive apostolic teaching from Scripture, who in turn received their revelation of Christ, it is befitting of them to ascribe to such teaching and defend it without wavering. It is also befitting of them to teach their flocks in such a way where the flock see no difference between the man and his doctrine. The Bereans model this for us.

The Doctrine of Christ and False Teachers

The doctrine of Christ never allows for false teachers. Does your's?

If you sit in judgment upon the Word of the King of kings and Lord of lords  and divide it into what you deem important and non-important; essential and non-essential, then by definition, you allow for false teachers and  false doctrine.

2Co 11:4  For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.

1Co 5:6  Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?
1Co 5:7  Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed.

Gal 5:7  You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?
Gal 5:8  This persuasion is not from him who calls you.
Gal 5:9  A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

Mat 16:6  Jesus said to them, "Watch and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

Mat 16:11  How is it that you fail to understand that I did not speak about bread? Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

Mar 8:15  And he cautioned them, saying, "Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod."

Eph 4:17  Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.
Eph 4:18  They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
Eph 4:19  They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.
Eph 4:20  But that is not the way you learned Christ!—

Gal 5:7  You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?
Gal 5:8  This persuasion is not from him who calls you.
Gal 5:9  A little leaven leavens the whole lump.

Hypocrisy: no call for removing homosexual flag

In a manifesto faxed to ABC News,  Flanagan, an Obama-supporter, claimed that his motive involved a “race war.” Flanagan was black and gay and apparently angered by the fact that he had been a victim of racism and homophobia at the hands of “black men and white women.”
Both of Flanagan’s intended victims were straight.
The gay pride rainbow flag reportedly found in Flanagan’s apartment is seen by many as a symbol of anti-Christian hate.
After a white racist terrorist in South Carolina murdered nine innocent black churchgoers, photos of the racist with the Confederate Flag resulted in a media frenzy to ban the flag.
Like the Confederate flag, the provocative gay pride flag, a symbol of religious oppression, has flown on government property.

Mild-Manner Apologists

We have too many mild-mannered apologists lecturing in pulpits today. The need of this hour is for red-hot proclaimers of God and His saving grace, not for mere philosophical explainers.

~Steve Lawson in his book on George Whitefield

Who Are Your Friends?

"I am a companion of all that fear Thee, and of them that keep Thy precepts" (Psalm 119:63).
"A person is not only known by the company he or she keeps, but is molded thereby: "He that walketh with wise men, shall be wise; but a companion of fools shall be destroyed" (Proverbs 13:20). Seek as your friends, dear reader, those who are most Christ-like in their character and conversation....A godly companion is an invaluable aid to the preserving of spirituality."
~ Arthur Pink, "The Life of David - Chapter 42"

Jas 4:4  You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

1Co 15:33  Do not be deceived: "Bad company ruins good morals."

2Co 6:14  Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
2Co 6:15  What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever?

Jer 15:17  I did not sit in the company of revelers, nor did I rejoice; I sat alone, because your hand was upon me, for you had filled me with indignation.

Psa 26:4  I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites. 5  I hate the assembly
of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.

Piper Prays For A Better, More Righteous Planned Parenthood

Piper showed up in protest outside a Planned Parenthood clinic in Minnesota, it was reported.

He seems to have lost his mind. He's not interested in praying for the destruction of PP at all it seems, only that it be a nicer, gentler, less bloody organization. Nevermind that it is demonic, murderous, and feminist as well as immoral (and it's found was a racist too). But then he prayed for a more righteous pope too, instead of against the RCC and the blasphemous pope.

"We want to pray for Planned Parenthood that they might live to righteousness," prayed Piper, who served as pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Minneapolis, Minnesota, for 33 years.
"We wanna ask that according to their title that is on their wall, Planned Parenthood, that they would bring about nurturing parents rather than helping parents stop being parents by killing their children," Piper said before a crowd of about 6,000 people, according to the desiringGod ministry.
End quote.

Encouragement

Doubt not his grace, because of thy tribulation, but believe that he loveth thee as much in seasons of trouble as in times of happiness.

Evolution Is A Religion: just read what Darwin himself said

While browsing through the stacks at the local library, I came across Science Matters, a book by two evolutionary naturalists.1
Chapter 17 is entitled, "Evolution" and the following is found on page 243:
If you are a Creationist, the Bible — not nature — dictates what you believe. Creationists subordinate observational evidence to doctrine based on their interpretation of sacred texts. The tenets of biblical Creationism are not testable, nor are they subject to dramatic change based on new data. In other words, Creationism is a form of religion.
Let's rearrange a few words that would make this paragraph much closer to the truth:
If you are an evolutionist, Darwin — not nature — dictates what you believe. Evolutionists subordinate observational evidence to doctrine based on their interpretation of On the Origin of Species. The tenets of evolutionary naturalism are not testable, nor are they subject to dramatic change based on new data. In other words, Evolutionism is a form of religion.
To those who would protest (too much!) the above restructuring, I would defer them to an introduction a British biologist wrote for Darwin's infamous book.....

The Blasphemy of Old-Age, Death-Before-The-Fall Doctrine

So why are so many "educated" and "sola Scriptura" "Christians NOT passionate about the character and unique authority as Creator? Indeed, to deny the Genesis account of Creation in any way, no matter how "small" it seems, is to blaspheme God. As Henry Morris III says:

“And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.” (Mark 12:33)

"God has a rather “passionate” view about His character and His unique authority in the universe: “I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else. . . . For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else” (Isaiah 45:5-6, 18).

It is nothing short of blasphemy to profess that the omniscient and omnipotent God of love and grace would have effected His creation through the horrific, purposeless, waste-filled, and age-long death of billions of living things prior to the rebellion of Adam (Romans 5:12). The naturalistic and evolutionary scheme of atheistic man is contradictory to God’s Word and His revealed character. We are to be committed to what God has said—whether the majority is passionately against it or not. "

Don't Sip From Babylon's Golden Goblet: compromise is sinful

"The woman wore purple and scarlet clothing and beautiful jewelry made of gold and precious gems and pearls. She held in her hand a golden goblet full of obscenities and the impurities of her immorality." Revelation 17:4

Beware of the whore of Babylon's golden goblet, and her sweet wine! Be like the virgin spouse of Christ--who follows Him wherever He goes.

Beware of false teachers! The devil has his ministers--as well as Christ! "Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves!" Matthew 7:15. Yes, they are ferocious wolves--they never have enough! "They are dogs with mighty appetites; they never have enough. They are shepherds who turn to their own way, each seeks his own gain!" Isaiah 56:11

Oh! false teachers do not feed the flock--but fleece the flock!

They do not convert--but pervert!
They do not purify--but poison!
They do not edify for salvation--but destroy for damnation!
Instead of curing souls--they kill souls!

Just so long as they pilfer the people's money--they care not, though the devil has their souls!

They are dogs and wolves combining together to massacre the flock of Christ! Oh! therefore keep yourselves fromBabylon's merchants, who make merchandise of the souls of men, Revelation 18:13.

Oh! the sins of teachers--are the teachers of sins!

Now, beloved, let . . .
  your hearts be upright,
  your judgments sound,
  and your lives holy!

Love the truth, and
obey the truth, and
hold fast the truth!

Keep yourselves . . .
  from false teachers,
  from false doctrines,
  from false worship,
  from false opinions!

If you will be tasting and sipping of Babylon's golden goblet--you must resolve to receive Babylon's plagues!

The Fascism of Academia

George Orwell said, "There are some ideas so absurd that only an intellectual could believe them." If one wants to discover the truth of Orwell's statement, he need only step upon most college campuses.
Faculty leaders of the University of California consider certain statements racism and feel they should not be used in class. They call it micro-aggression. To them, micro-aggressive racist statements are: "America is the land of opportunity....."
From the Nazis to the Stalinists, tyrants have always started out supporting free speech, and why is easy to understand. Speech is vital for the realization of their goals of command, control and confiscation. Free speech is a basic tool for indoctrination, propagandizing, proselytization. Once the leftists gain control, as they have at many universities, free speech becomes a liability and must be suppressed. This is increasingly the case on university campuses....
Oberlin College proposed that its teachers be aware of politically controversial topics such as "racism, classism, sexism, heterosexism, cissexism, ableism, capitalism and other issues of privilege and oppression." The presumption that students must be protected rather than challenged in a classroom is at once infantilizing and anti-intellectual....

SBC Embraces A Gospel-less, Christless, Repentantless Experience and Call It Salvation

As Jeff Maples of Psalm 21 Outreach reports:

David Uth, megachurch pastor of First Baptist Church, Orlando, interviewed Rifqa Bary, author of Hiding in the Light, during his speech at the Southern Baptist Convention earlier today. Bary is an ex-muslim who claims she came to Christ through an experiential event of a “presence” she had as a child in a garden, who she later found out to be Jesus when she felt the same “presence” in a church later in life....

The earliest memory I have of Jesus, and I didn’t realize it was Jesus meeting me, was when I was about 12 years old–2 years old, and I was playing in the garden, and I felt this strong presence, and I would keep turning back, as a little girl, and that memory was imprinted into my spirit. I remember feeling so safe and loved and cherished, and I kept looking back, but I just knew that someone was there, and it was so big, and that day that I went into the church building, I knew without a doubt that it was the same presence I had felt in the garden as a child and things were okay.
All during this interview, David Uth is praising her, and affirming her experiential events that led her to Christ, devoid of Scripture and the Gospel.

End quote.

He hawked her book which was for sale and signing after the service. It is published by SBC's Lifeway publisher.

This is similar to other "conversion" stories by "ex-Muslims" although usually it's via a dream. Still, their "Jesus" does not identify Himself to them, nor does he tell them of their sinful state and that He alone, the Jesus of Scripture, God the Son who took on flesh and was born to a virgin Jewish woman and rose again on the third day according to Scripture, is the only One who can save by His finished work on the Cross. No, they walk away from such a visitor feeling good about themselves, not bad, not convicted of sin, not with a true godly sorrow. They don't even know who visited them; sometimes some of them assume it's Jesus, but I know other times this man never identifies himself. Their "Jesus" is one that everyone can hug and celebrate and not die for. Plus, Jesus does have a presence with Christ-haters that makes them feel warm and fuzzy and valuable and loved. In fact, Scripture states that all the ungodly, all the unbelievers remain under HIS wrath unless they get saved. This was an UNHOLY spirit that has visited this woman. This is not of God at all.

Genesis and the Gospel

There is a direct link between Genesis and the Gospel.

At the first stop, we learn that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”1 But what is sin? It means breaking God’s holy law. God gave the first law to Adam and Eve in the Garden, saying, “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat.”2
The second stop on the Romans Road says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”3 Death refers to separation, including body from soul or a person from God. Of course, Genesis 3 records the origin of death. When the real Adam and Eve disobeyed God, His justice demanded the death penalty. According to evolutionary history, man did not descend from Adam and Eve but evolved from animal ancestors that had been living and dying for billions of years. Those who believe this man-made version of history see no Adam in their past, so they struggle to understand the last Adam, Jesus.
Now for some good news....
~Brian Thomas, ICR "Does Genesis Matter to the Gospel?" Read the whole article at the link.

Gen. 1-11 is essential doctrine to all of Scripture. Heb. 11:1-3 also reiterate this. As Creator God creates a new heart/new man. As Creator He is also Judge, Owner, Savior, and Sustainer.

Jimmy Carter Trifles With The Living God

“I believe he would. I believe Jesus would. I don’t have any verse in scripture…” Carter responded when asked by HuffPo Live host Mark Lamont Hill whether Christ would embrace same-sex nuptials. “I believe that Jesus would approve of gay marriage, but I’m not – that’s just my own personal belief.”

The one-term Democratic president also said that he believes Jesus “would encourage … any love affair that was honest and sincere.”

~Jimmy Carter as reported in The Blaze , July 7, 2015
He also has blamed Christians and Catholics for abuse of women:

Appearing on Monday's Morning Joe, the former president said: "with the writing of St. Paul, you can selectively take verses out of the Bible and you can justify women not being able to be priests and so forth, so the Catholic church and the Southern Baptist Convention and others quite often say well women are not qualified to have an equal role in the service of God as men. And of course men all over the world take this as kind of a proof that they can abuse their wives or pay less pay, you know?"
Huffington Reported:
Jimmy Carter offered an open letter explaining why he is divorcing himself from the Southern Baptist Convention after six decades as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Basically, the SBC continues to legislate gender inequity from the top-down, cherry picking select verses to serve a desired patriarchal end, to which Carter responds:
"It was, however, an unavoidable decision when the convention's leaders, quoting a few carefully selected Bible verses and claiming that Eve was created second to Adam and was responsible for original sin, ordained that women must be "subservient" to their husbands and prohibited from serving as deacons, pastors or chaplains in the military service."

~Huffington Post

He now has cancer which has spread through to other parts of his body.
This is God's judgment upon such a blasphemer.
God has spoken on the issue of women's roles:
1Pe 3:5 For this is how the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves, by submitting to their own husbands...

Col 3:18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Eph 5:22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
1Tim. 2: 11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 1Tim2: 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.

1Cor. 14: 33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. As in all the congregations of the saints, 34 women should remain silent in the churchesThey are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the Law says. 35 If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church. 36 Did the word of God originate with you? Or are you the only people it has reached? 37 If anybody thinks he is a prophet or spiritually gifted, let him acknowledge that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command. 38 If he ignores this, he himself will be ignored.
Carter's continued attack on Scripture and the Author of Scripture, especially as a long-standing deacon in the SBC earns him God's punishment. You do NOT trifle with the Living God. You do not mock Him or His Word, nor do you teach people to do the same.
Heb 10:29  How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? 30  For we know him who said, "Vengeance is mine; I will repay." And again, "The Lord will judge his people." 31  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God

Do You Meditate Upon The Wrath of God?

"Our readiness or our reluctance to meditate upon the wrath of God becomes a sure test of how our hearts really are affected toward Him. If we do not truly rejoice in God, for what He is in Himself, and that because of all the perfections which are eternally resident in Him, then how dwelleth the love of God in us?
Each of us needs to be most prayerfully on guard against devising an image of God in our thoughts which is patterned after our own evil inclinations. Of old, the Lord complained, "Thou thoughtest that I was altogether . . . as thyself" (Ps. 50:21), If we rejoice not "at the remembrance of his holiness" (Ps. 97:12), if we rejoice not to know that in a soon coming day God will make a glorious display of His wrath, by taking vengeance on all who now oppose Him, it is proof positive that our hearts are not in subjection to Him; that we are yet in our sins."

Identification

The believer identifies with God's judgment upon the wicked and insolent. He also whole-heartedly loves and seeks to obey God's rules, commandments, precepts, and law. Moreover he identifies with those who obey the Word.
Today, "Christians" have it the complete opposite: they identify with the wicked--those who disobey the Word, by claiming "love" and "grace" by way of the appeal to "who's perfect?". They excuse such sin or in false humility, they identify with sin too, even parade it around as if they are being humble. This is wholesale rebellion against God. If we are a new creation, a new man in Christ, as Scripture states for true Christians, then our thinking and identity is Christ Jesus the Master and King, His Word, and His people.

Psa 119:53 Hot indignation seizes me because of the wicked, who forsake your law.
Psa 119:21 You rebuke the insolent, accursed ones, who wander from your commandments.
Psa 119:113 Samekh. I hate the double-minded, but I love your law.
Psa 119:115 Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God.
Psa 119:118  You spurn all who go astray from your statutes, for their cunning is in vain.
Psa 119:119  All the wicked of the earth you discard like dross, therefore I love your testimonies.
Psa 119:120  My flesh trembles for fear of you, and I am afraid of your judgments.

Psa 139:19 Oh that you would slay the wicked, O God! O men of blood, depart from me!
Psa 139:20 They speak against you with malicious intent; your enemies take your name in vain.
Psa 139:21 Do I not hate those who hate you, O LORD? And do I not loathe those who rise up against you?
Psa 139:22 I hate them with complete hatred; I count them my enemies.

Psa 119:63 I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts.

Psa 26:4 I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites.
Psa 26:5 I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.
Psa 26:6 I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, O LORD,

2Co 5:16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer.
2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Gal 6:14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Gal 6:15 For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
Gal 6:16 And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.

Sermons

Christ must be in every sermon and He must be top and bottom, too, of all the theology that is preached.

- Spurgeon

Ministers

A holy minister is an awful weapon in the hand of God.
 - Spurgeon

I would say the reverse is also true: the unholy, illegitimate minister is a weapon of Satan in the pulpit.

Revival

"If the old gospel is not competent to work a revival, then we will do without the revival.

- Spurgeon

Rom 1:15 So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Rom 1:17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith." Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.

Anxiety and It's Antidote

"Be anxious for nothing" Philippians 4:6
Worrying is as definitely forbidden as theft. This needs to be carefully pondered and definitely realized by us, so that we do not excuse it as an innocent "infirmity." The more we are convicted of the sinfulness of anxiety, the sooner are we likely to perceive that it is most dishonoring to God, and "strive against" it (Heb. 12:4). But how are we to "strive against" it?
First, by begging the Holy Spirit to grant us a deeper conviction of its enormity. Second, by making it a subject of special and earnest prayer, that we may be delivered from this evil. Third, by watching its beginning, and as soon as we are conscious of harassment of mind, as soon as we detect the unbelieving thought, lift up our heart to God and ask Him for deliverance from it.
The best antidote for anxiety is frequent meditation upon God’s goodness, power (sovereignty), and sufficiency. When the saint can confidently realize "The Lord is My Shepherd," he must draw the conclusion, "I shall not want!" Immediately following our exhortation is, "but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God." Nothing is too big and nothing is too little to spread before and cast upon the Lord. The "with thanksgiving" is most important, yet it is the point at which we most fail. It means that before we receive God’s answer, we thank Him for the same: it is the confidence of the child expecting his Father to be gracious.
"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought (anxious concern) for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?" "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:25,33)
~ Arthur Pink, "Anxiety"

Repeatedly throughout the Bible's longest chapter, Psalm 119, the writer, while acknowledging sorrow, affliction, and persecution, always fixes his eyes on the Word. Always.

Psa 119:23  Even though princes sit plotting against me, your servant will meditate on your statutes.
Psa 119:24  Your testimonies are my delight; they are my counselors.

Psa 119:50  This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.
Psa 119:51  The insolent utterly deride me, but I do not turn away from your law.
Psa 119:52  When I think of your rules from of old, I take comfort, O LORD.

Psa 119:59  When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies;

Psa 119:67  Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word.

Psa 119:69  The insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts;
Psa 119:70  their heart is unfeeling like fat, but I delight in your law.

Psa 119:71  It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes.

Psa 119:86  All your commandments are sure; they persecute me with falsehood; help me!
Psa 119:87  They have almost made an end of me on earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts.

Psa 119:92  If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
Psa 119:93  I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life.
Psa 119:94  I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts.
Psa 119:95  The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider your testimonies.

Past Experiences

Past experiences are doubtful food for Christians; a present coming to Christ alone can give us joy and comfort.

~Spurgeon

Php 3:7 But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Php 3:8 Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

Php 3:12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Php 3:13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, Php 3:14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

The Word Is Enough

The gospel will be found equal to every emergency; an arrow which can pierce the hardest heart, a balm which will heal the deadliest wound.

It is in vain when conscience is aroused to fly to feelings and evidences for comfort.

The word of God is always most precious to the man who most lives upon it.

Calvinism, Knowledge, Intellectual, Lofty Minds Does Not A Child of God Make

That man is no Christian who is not the subject of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit; he may talk well, he may understand theology and be a sound Calvinist; he will be the child of nature finely dressed, but not the living child. He may be a man of so profound an intellect, so gigantic a soul, so comprehensive a mind, and so lofty an imagination, that he may dive into all the secrets of nature; may know the path which the eagles eye hath not seen, and go into depths where the ken of mortals reacheth not; but he shall not be a Christian with all his knowledge, he shall not be a son of God with all his researches, unless he understands what it is to have the Holy Ghost dwelling in him, and abiding in him, yea, and that for ever.

Yet Another Faked Attack By Sodomite Couple On Themselves

How sick, wicked, and angry must these lesbians be to fake being attacked by anti-sodomites?

A lesbian couple faked a hate crime that left their home a pile of charred rubble at their Venore, Tenn., property in 2010, local reports said.
An insurance company caught on to the ruse months after the blaze and accused Carol Ann and Laura Stutte of perpetuating a hoax and blaming the fire on their neighbor, the Knoxville News Sentinel reported.
A federal jury ruled in favor of the insurance company’s belief that the couple spray-painted an anti-gay slur on their own garage to spin the fire as a hate crime based on their sexual orientation.

The Public Relations of Fear

To be plain speaking, using definitive, striking, uncoated words of truth is considered by liberals both in religion and in politics to be, as Jeb Bush said, “outrageous things that turns people off to the conservative message.” From Rick Warren, to Tim Keller, from the SBC  to the TGC--Reformed or Arminian, liberals all hate the Truth and consider the feelings of sinners to be more important than the Truth, the God of Truth, and HIS offense from such wicked men. Public Relations dictates behavior and thought, not just in politics, but in  Christianity today.

Word of Faith Hillsong NYC Church's Carl Lentz and Redeemer Presbyterian Church's Tim Keller: don't speak publicly about sodomy

I suspect it won't be long before Tim Keller's church, Redeemer Presbyterian in NYC will follow Word of Faith Carl Lentz' church, Hillsong NYC, and openly accept sodomites not only as members but in ministry:

Josh Canfield, in an interview with Playbill.com, said this in January of 2015: ” I became truthful with my church. I’m a part of Hillsong NYC. I’m one of their choir directors. I also sing on their Worship team. They’ve been amazing as well. Nothing has changed there now that I’m completely out and with Reed. He sings in the choir as well.

"When it comes to homosexuality, I refuse to let another human being or a media moment dictate how we approach it. Jesus was in the thick of an era where homosexuality, just like it is today, was widely prevalent. And I'm still waiting for someone to show me the quote were Jesus addressed it on the record in front of people. You won't find it because he never did."

The couple shared that gay men and women were welcomed at Hillsong NYC, with Lentz stating, "We have a lot of gay men and women in our church and I pray we always do."
Mrs. Lentz added, "It's not our place to tell anyone how they should live, it's – that's their journey."
End quote.

By the way Lentz is wrong. The culture in which Jesus lived was not an era of homosexuality just like today. That's not true. There was sodomy, as has been sin after the Fall, the most infamous being Sodom, Gomorrah,Admah, and Zeboiim. Jesus' culture was a Jewish one and it rejected sodomy.

As John MacArthur recently noted on the topic in his sermon "We Will Not Bow":

There were even people in ancient times, referred to in the book of Deuteronomy who were emasculated—who were deprived of their male-ness, involuntarily or voluntarily. Deuteronomy 23:1 says, any emasculated man was forbidden to enter the assembly of the Lord, forbidden to enter the assembly of the Lord.
These kinds of sins that blur the clear distinction between male and female are satanic. And by the way, no feature of pagan society—no feature of pagan society in ancient times—filled the Jews with greater loathing than the toleration or admiration of homosexuality. They understood what the Old Testament said. The Old Testament specifically prohibits it. Do not lie with a man as a man lies with a woman. That is detestable. Leviticus 18:22. First Corinthians 6:9–10, the New Testament says the same thing: Homosexuals and effeminate shall not inherit the kingdom of God. It is not an alternate lifestyle; it is a deviation. It is a perversion. It is a corruption.
End quote.
Carl Lentz, in his dishonest portrayal of the culture Jesus lived in and what Jesus did or did not say about sodomy, sounds like Tim Keller: they both want to be quiet when it comes to publicly proclaiming sodomy as an abomination that sends a person to Hell (and no, Jesus was not silent on the subject, either in the NT times, or in the OT--remember, He is the Author of Scripture and He appeared to Moses with two angels to deal with sodomy VERY publicly as a judgment upon the cities that were filled with sodomy, in Gen. 18-19).
Gen 18:1  And the LORD appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day.
Gen 18:16  Then the men set out from there, and they looked down toward Sodom. And Abraham went with them to set them on their way.
Gen 18:17  The LORD said, "Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do,
Gen 18:18  seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Gen 18:20  Then the LORD said, "Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great and their sin is very grave,
Gen 18:21  I will go down to see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry that has come to me. And if not, I will know."

Gen 18:26  And the LORD said, "If I find at Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will spare the whole place for their sake."

Jesus did speak against sodomy:
Mat 11:23  And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.
Luk 17:29  but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom, fire and sulfur rained from heaven and destroyed them all—30  so will it be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

Here is Keller in an interview at Veritas.

This is the interview Keller had with Brian Chappell:

KELLER: Well, it’s much, much, much easier to to have private conversations about it. I think…..uh…I can make this short. I…I believe in general that if you preach on why homosexuality is a sin,..uhhh….there are……at least in my…in my..in my..in my church I know there’s lots and lots of folks who have same sex attraction who know that that’s not….as a Christian, I can’t do that. I’m not gonna go there. There’s a good number of them. I’ve got a lot of non-Christians who are present who are friends of gay people but are not gay. Uhhh…and then uhh there’d be a number of people with same sex attraction who…are there. And generally speaking, it’s almost impossible to preach a sermon and hit all 3 or 4 of those constituencies equally well. Ummmm.. it’s just.. it’s just think about..you know..you know…you’re a communicator. You know you need to…well, what’s my goal? Who are my audience and..wow! it’s like a conundrum you can’t solve. So, the best thing has always been for me..[CONSPICUOUS COUGH]…to not do the public teaching as much as segment my audience through…ummm [CONSPICUOUS COUGH]..Books, through classes, through one-on-ones, and so on. I think the time is probably coming in which we’re going to have be more public in how we talk about homosexuality. And I haven’t….I’m actually thinking quite a lot about it. Uhhh.. as to how I will go about it or how we should go about it but I’m not prepared to give you 3 bullet points.
